ISP CLI

The CLI (Command line interface) allows the users to give instructions to some computer program or to the operating system through a line of simple text.

Specificaly, the ISP-CLI, that will be the name we are going to give to the Krill's CLI, wil allow us to manage the different modules that we hire as well as asking questions and permform basic actions in them. For example, if we have the gpon service in our Krill, through this tool, we will be able to see the metrics of an OLT's pon or even force the provision or restart of a cpe.

CLI access

First, we will iniciate our terminal and we will access the server through SSH. To do so we will have to enter the following line if we are using Ubuntu or Mac: ssh ispadmin@XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -p 4222.

Where:

  • ispadmin Krill server's access user.
  • XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX refers to the server's IP.
  • -p 4222 the access port (we will usually use 4222). Instead of using the IP, we could also use the dns, xyz.phicus.es, where xyz are the letters used to identify the customer.

Once this is done, we should get into the management panel ISP-CLI, that will look like this:

ispadmin@lab3.phicus.es >

TIP

If the access is done using Windows, an access interface, like the console PuTTY (https://www.putty.org/), must be used.

Once we are in the server with the user โ€œispadminโ€, the 'tab' key could be used to look at the different options available, with which different requests or actions could be executed in our Krill:

ispadmin@lab3.phicus.es >
core fail2ban ping telnet tv
dhcp ghn radius tr069 wimax
exit gpon ssh traceroute

Core Tools

core devices print

It allows us to get a list of all the core devices that are responding through SNMP to see the condition of its interfaces, tags, etc.

gpon olt [OLT_ID] snapshot-full

It is used when a change in the ONT's configuration is made and Krill must know those changes. It is also a good practice to use it when we add ONTs manually in the OLT so we can have all the IDs from that OLT updated.
